I’m Chris. I started Unscripted Human at 55, at one of the lowest points of my life.

I’m not going to pretend that’s behind me, or dress it up as a comeback story. It isn’t finished. I’m making this while it’s still true, because the shows I kept finding were made by people describing a storm from the shore.

What that year taught me is simple to say and hard to live with: the version of things people say out loud and the version they carry around are almost never the same. The gap between them is where everyone is quietly struggling alone. I got very good at “good, busy” myself. Most of us have.

I couldn’t find the conversation I needed, so I’m recording it. Real conversations with real people willing to answer the questions most of us deflect, and no talking points anywhere near the table. If you have an answer you’ve never said out loud, the guest chair is open. If you’d rather listen first, the list hears each episode before the feed does.
